I can give you no greater advice than these reflections from Tom Wright –

Jesus is absolutely in the middle

If you want to know who God is, look at Jesus

If you want to know what it means to be human, look at Jesus

If you want to know what love is, look at Jesus

If you want to know what grief is, look at Jesus

And keep on looking until you’re not just a spectator, but you’re actually part of the drama which has him as its central character

Thanks for posting this Jeff. What a great encouragement to keep the Central Character as the centre of our faith. Blessings!

Beautiful, concise and, best of all, true. The older I get, the more I read and live and ask questions, the clearer this becomes. No matter what type or how seemingly intractable some question of theology or faith or practice, starting at the centre provides the head start that is needed. Surely beats a lot of bushwhacking!
